Jalapeño Cheddar Bread vs Blueberry Cinnamon Chip Bread
I use the same base bread recipe, which gives me a good starting point to try out different flavor combinations! A tale of two breads, which will you choose?
I’m using a bread oven my mom bought me from Aldi, but you can also use a Dutch oven. I would even recommend any sort of baking vessel that can withstand 450 F.
Base Bread Ingredients
3 3/4 cups (450g) All-Purpose Flour
3 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon active dry yeast
1.5 cups (340g) warm water
Method
Combine the flour, salt, and yeast in a large bowl.
Add your warm water and mix together until combined and you’ve formed a shaggy dough.
Cover and let sit at room temperature for two hours.
Place bowl in fridge to continue rising overnight.
The following day, take bowl out of the fridge and let sit at room temperature for 30-minutes.
At this point, you can shape the dough and bake plain or prepare your fillings. Follow below to see how I prepared and baked off the two breads!
Jalapeño Cheddar Bread
Ingredients
Base bread recipe from above
1.5 cups (138g) pickled jalapeños
8-ounces cheddar cheese
Method
While your base bread is resting at room temperature, prepare your fillings.
Dice pickled jalapeños and chop up your block of cheddar cheese
I like using pickled jalapeños because I like the taste and I prefer chopping the cheddar cheese in blocks. You can prepare yours however you’d like!
Place your dough on a floured surface and flatten out. Add 1/3 of your fillings and knead together for a few seconds.
Flatten again and do the process two more times until you’ve used all your fillings.
Shape into a ball and let rest for 1 hour.
While the dough is resting, preheat your oven to 450 F and place your bread oven/dutch oven inside.
Remove your bread oven from the oven and carefully remove the lid. Add your bread to a piece of parchment paper.
Score the bread on top and add the lid back on. Place in oven for 20 minutes.
Carefully remove the lid and place back in oven, uncovered, for another 20-25 minutes.
Remove from the oven and let rest for an hour before cutting.
Enjoy!
Blueberry Cinnamon Bread
I had some trouble getting the blueberries distributed evenly when I first made this, so I would recommend making sure you try incorporating them in as best as you can.

2 cups (380g) fresh blueberries
1.5 cups (255g) cinnamon chips
I made my own using this recipe, but you can also just buy them online!
